WHY THIS EXISTS
Clean the hidden data before the upload
Phone and camera photos can carry EXIF fields such as device model, editing software, timestamps, and sometimes GPS location. Many websites strip some metadata after upload, but users usually need to check privacy before the file leaves the browser. This tool gives a direct path: inspect common markers, export a clean copy, and verify the clean file again.
Sample input and expected output
Sample: a JPG with EXIF APP1 metadata and a GPS directory. Expected: the result reports GPS/EXIF before cleaning, downloads a new image, and the output receipt shows no common EXIF/GPS/XMP markers after cleaning.
Not for
Do not use this as legal redaction, forensic evidence handling, archival preservation, or visible private information removal. If a face, plate, address, badge, or document is visible in the pixels, crop or blur it separately before sharing.
